At 443 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a landspout tornado 12 miles southeast of Akron, moving south at 10 mph. Here is a current loop of radar as of 12:40 pm. The line of severe storms continues to track northeast through northwest Colorado and portions of central Colorado. Expect 60 to 70 mph wind gusts, torrential rain and frequent lightning along this line. Some hail is still possible as well but nothing as large as what we saw earlier today. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move east across the northeastern plains and Palmer Divide through early evening. Most of the showers and storms will only produce light rain showers along with gusty winds. However, some of the stronger storms across far northeastern Colorado could produce brief heavy rain, small hail and wind gusts to 55 mph.
