The official launch order was received on March 7, allowing SpaceX and the Space Force to prepare and execute the mission in under three months—a significant acceleration compared to the typical 18–24 months for such missions. The GPS III SV-08 satellite, also known as USA-440, is part of the GPS Block III series developed by Lockheed Martin.
